Are all fonts free?
No, not all fonts are free. Many great fonts come at a premium. Fonts that are not free are called licensed and you can purchase an entire typeface or just indiviual fonts. (We’ll explain the difference below). Fonts can be free or licensed, for a fee, for commercial use.
How can I tell if a font is copyrighted?
Google the name of the typeface with the word ‘typeface’ behind it and you will find the source(s) of the typeface. On the source website you should be able to find the font license and its usage do’s and don’ts.
How to install a font
Download a new font from the Internet. Next, open the folder containing the new font you’d like to install. Right-click the font file, you’d like to install and select Open. In the window that appears, click the Install button in the top, left corner. On a Mac, you download the font you want and then open Font Book. Drag the font from your download folder into Font Book.
